Bridal Shower Luncheon Ideas – How important is a great bridal shower menu? Well, for a lot of women, it’s not a wedding without a bridal shower. And I say that it’s not a bridal shower without awesome bridal shower food. A bridal shower is all about having fun and celebrating — after all, getting married is one of the biggest moments of anyone’s life, and deserves to be celebrated!
To create an appealing, colorful display, offer mini portions of several different sweets on your buffet table. Use tiered cake stands for an impressive presentation. The small portions make it easy for guests to sample one of each!
Pleased as Punch
If you’re serving punch, make a floating centerpiece ahead of time: freeze layers of punch and fruit in a tube pan or ring mold. Choose fruits that complement the drink to be served and flowers that match the décor and occasion. Arrange berries, citrus slices, mint leaves and rose petals or other edible flowers in the bottom of the mold. Add just enough liquid (juice, tea, water or punch) to cover the bottom of the mold–you don’t want the fruit to float away. Freeze. Repeat with more layers of liquid and berries, as desired. Just before serving, dip the mold in hot water, invert and float the centerpiece in the punch bowl.
You could also do a variety of pizzas served at room temperature including Jim Lahey’s pizza patata, mushroom pizza, zucchini pizza, etc. I’ve had them all and they taste/look great at room temp. Another pizza that is my favorite is one that I make with caramelized onions with anchovies melted in, chopped kalamata olives and fresh grated pecorino. Even people who “hate” anchovies love this pizza and it’s also good served at room temp.
